The Auto Assign screen can be opened by using the following menu command:
Tools : Assignments : Auto Assign or
Main Menu : Assignments : Auto Assign
The Auto Assign screen has the following fields:
Range of game dates to auto-assign. All games between the Start Date and End Date will be considered for the Auto-Assign process.
To choose the conflict types to use for your auto-assign procedure, click the name of the conflict type. For maximum efficiency, it is best to only choose the conflict types you intend to use for your assigning scheme.
If you wish to only assign games that are in certain leagues, click the league(s) to assign. If no leagues are chosen, all leagues will be assigned.
To choose specific positions to assign, click the name(s) of the position(s). If no positions are chosen, all positions will be assigned.
The Auto Assign screen has two different assignment processes that can be run:
The Auto-Assign Standard process will assign referees to any open position, according to the date range, conflict types, leagues, and positions specified on the auto assign screen.
The Auto-Assign Linked process will assign referees to linked positions, according to the date range, conflict types, leagues, and positions specified on the auto assign screen.
If you are using the Link Games feature to assign referees to back-to-back games on the same field, run the Auto-Assign Linked process first. Once linked assignments are filled, run the Auto-Assign Standard process to assign any remaining positions that were unable to be filled by the Auto-Assign Linked process.
The assignment process can be stopped if you hit the ESC key on your keyboard. The status bar at the bottom of the page will let you know the progress, and an estimated completion time for your assignments.
Once the assigment process has completed, Referee Assistant will let you know how many assignments were filled for the range of dates specified.
If you want to examine your assignments, open the Reports screen, and choose a report to run.
Referee Assistant takes a "snapshot" of your assignments when you open the Auto-Assign Referees screen. This snapshot is retained until you close the Auto-Assign screen. Once you close the Auto-Assign screen, Referee Assistant will prompt you:
Do you want to save auto-assign changes? Click YES to make these changes permanent Click NO to permanently undo these changes Click CANCEL to view assignments or return to the auto-assign screen.
If the Yes button is clicked, the screen will close and the assignment changes are applied
If the No button is clicked, the screen will close, and the auto-assigned assignments will be removed.
If the Cancel button is clicked, you will be returned to the auto-assign screen.
