Manual assignments give the referee administrator the most flexibility when assigning referees to a match.
The Manual Assign screen can be opened by using the following menu command:

The Manual Assign screen displays a list of games, sorted by date.
To assign a referee to a game:
Choose a game from the list. A game can be chosen by
clicking the game in the list, or
entering the game number in the Go To Game: box
Choose an officiating position from the list labeled Referees Currently Assigned
The All Referees list will populate/re-generate, indicating the referee's age, home and work telephone numbers, whether a conflict exists or not, the referee's preferred ability level for that position, and the referee's low/high ability level for that position. Referees are sorted by last name; referees with a conflict are at the bottom of the list, and referees without a conflict are at the top of the list.
Click the button to assign the referee to the selected position
To remove a referee from a game:
Choose a game from the list.
In the Referees Currently Assigned box, click the referee to be removed
Click the Remove button
To see why a referee has a conflict with a game:
Choose a game from the list
In the Referees Currently Assigned box, click the position you wish to consider for the conflict list.
Click the referee's name
Click the Describe Conflict button.
To turn on/off conflict types for use during manual assignments:
Click the Choose Conflict Criteria button
Check the In Use box for the specific conflict types to be utilized
Un-check the In Use box for any conflict types that should be excluded
Click the Close button
To view the assignments for a particular referee
In the All Referees list, click the referee's name
Click the Show Assignments button

The Auto Assign screen can be opened by using the following menu command:
Tools : Assignments : Auto-Assign Referees or
Main Menu : Assignments : Auto-Assign Referees
To assign referees:
Choose a range of dates for the assignments; all games between the two dates will be assigned.
Choose the conflict types to be used for assignment. If no conflict types are chosen, referees will be assigned so that they are not working overlapping games.
Choose the specific leagues to assign. If league(s) are not selected, all leagues will be assigned.
Choose the specific referee positions to assign. If position(s) are not selected, all referee positions will be assigned.
Click Assign Referees--Standard
The assignment process can be stopped if you hit the ESC key on your keyboard. The status bar at the bottom of the page will let you know the progress, and an estimated completion time for your assignments.
Once the assigment process has completed, Referee Assistant will let you know how many assignments were filled for the range of dates specified.
If you want to examine your assignments, open the Reports screen, and choose a report to run.
Referee Assistant takes a "snapshot" of your assignments when you open the Auto-Assign Referees screen. This snapshot is retained until you close the Auto-Assign screen. Once you close the Auto-Assign screen, Referee Assistant will prompt you:
Do you want to save auto-assign changes? Click YES to make these changes permanent Click NO to permanently undo these changes Click Cancel to view assignments or return to the auto-assign screen.
If the Yes button is clicked, the screen will close and the assignment changes are applied
If the No button is clicked, the screen will close, and the auto-assigned assignments will be removed.
If the Cancel button is clicked, you will be returned to the auto-assign screen.
